Connect with the slow life of island life along the Shimanami Kaido, Part 1 Onomichi to Setoda
The 70km-long Shimanami Kaido in Japan is one of the world’s most beautiful and most accessible bike routes.
Island-hopping across the Seto Inalnd Sea between Honshu and Shikoku via the route’s famous bridges is one of Japan’s most unforgettable experiences. With a large fleet of bikes available for rent and cycle terminals located all along a route that is clearly marked by the now iconic “”Blue Line,”” spending a few days exploring this gorgeous part of Japan is stress-free and safe.
And, of course, meeting and chatting with the people of Shimanami along the way is a highlight of any visit.
In this video, a solo traveler makes use of one of our battery-assisted bikes to explore the Shimanami Blue Line between Onomichi and Setoda on Ikuchijima Island, connecting with friendly locals along the way.
We invite you to come and connect with Shimanami!
