In this episode of my round-the-world bike tour, I leave my host in Andria and stock up on food before heading to the legendary octagonal fortress of Castel del Monte. From there, I begin crossing the wild landscape of Alta Murgia National Park. Midway through, the Italian army stops me due to military exercises, but I eventually find a way through before nightfall. I arrive in Gravina in Puglia just as the sun sets, but without a camping spot, I’m forced to ride deep into the darkness along quiet rural roads until I find a half-decent place to spend the night.

We had one recycling center and it closed. The landfill is full and they have to open a new one now. Single use plastics are overwhelming us all. ☹
