American Expat Explorer Is SURPRISED at the Quality of Dongmyo Market! (14 Years in Korea)

Shopping for clothes is the toughest thing for me to do! I don’t like having so many choices and I hate paying so much money for clothes. I traveled to Dongmyo Flea Market in Seoul and was SURPRISED at what I found! I think Dongmyo Flea Mart is a cool place to find all the clothes I need at low prices. Depending on which shop I go to, the quality varies from very low, almost new! If you are in Seoul and want to save money on clothes and other essentials, try Dongmyo Market! You may be surprised!

  1. Dongmyo Flea Market surprised me! There was SO MUCH to see! I feel like I could go there and spend a whole day! It's definitely a place I recommend if you are looking to buy clothes and other accessories at cheap prices but high quality!

  2. No no noooo, too much choice, too many things, I wouldn't buy anything, I'd get lost because I have no sense of direction. I'd wait in the park… much better.

  3. I can't buy anything because if I have too much choice, I think I'll find something I like better somewhere else. Too much effort…:))

  4. I'd be overwhelmed with all the merchandise at Dongmyo Market. Thanks for sharing. No need to go to the gym. Those stairs will keep you in shape even with a bowl of noodles!

  5. Forget about all these ostentation of clothes. Not only you would only fit in their XXXL jackets, but also, if someone with your stature would wear sleeveless XXXXL tank top with your exoskeletal muscle. C'mon Chippendale. You are a pitbull among bichons in there. But I'm glad this time you read Koreans and knowing what the signs mean lol (I didn't know you had a surgery at your young hefty age)

  6. Hey, how cool to see you in my hood/동내! Seriously, my upcoming trip will be my sixth time staying between Dongmyo and Sindang. I am embarrassed, though, cuz you showed me that there’s far more to Dongmyo than I’ve explored up till now. I should definitely just let my feet take me where they will…though I’m not much into shopping and, like you, sometimes feel so overwhelmed by how much stuff we humans accumulate!

I do definitely want to find that temple. Your video definitely feels as though it’s welcoming me back to Seoul, so thank you for that! And, omg, those noodles really look delicious!

Au revoir, Francois, et bonne chance!

  7. This might be our biggest difference in life, I'm like a lady on thid topic, I love buying clothes and shopping in general… That market would be dangerous for me! But i was hoping you'd find the camera store!

  8. Hi Francois. Thanks for sharing this thrift shop video. You made me laugh when you said you hate shopping. I'm a female but so do I. I'm unlike other women who love to shop. I find there is so many choices, and that overwhelms me. I also hate trying on clothes. The putting on and pulling off then on again, it drives me crazy. lol. But wow their thrift shops are really huge. Thanks for sharing.

  9. I love love love love love love love love love love flea markets. We have a huge flea market here in Pasadena at the Rose Bowl I think it's every second Sunday of the month you actually have to pay to get in but there's amazing deals and just browsing through the things as wonderful. When you were living in France did you check out the flea markets in Paris I understand they're a sight to behold all the little flea markets that are selling beautiful clothing and books and paintings. It's probably the only draw that Paris has for me. I can't wait to come to Seoul and check this place out thank you so much for showing us this

  10. South Korean market is unhinged to a certain extent that fake stuff are allowed due to their proximity to China, which just keeps pouring lots of stuff into the already saturated South Korean market. Good for us, the Tourist/Shoppers, i guess!
