Wondering whether to stay overnight in Fujiyoshida or take a day trip from Tokyo to Fujiyoshida only? I highly recommend spending a night here as this is a tranquil place in Japan. Fujiyoshida is well-known for the base camp for hiking to Fuji Mountain, an iconic place in Japan. Regardless of hiking to Mount Fuji, there are incredible places to explore and chill out in this area, of which Kawaguchi Lake, one of the Fujiyoshida Five Lakes, is a must. Cycling through the peaceful trails and making some stops to admire the picturesque landscape worth your stay.
I came to some popular spots in Fujiyoshida to see Mount Fuji such as Chureito Pagoda in Arakurayama Sengen Park, the Lawson convenience store, Honcho Street and Honmachi-dori, the old-fashioned shopping streets in Fujoyoshida, Fujisan Rooftop terrace, but the cloudy weather made the peak unseen. I might pray for luck next time, probably.
