Ehime Prefecture is located in western Japan and has a number of spectacular cycling roads. One of them is the Shimanami Kaido, which connects Ehime and Hiroshima Prefectures with seven bridges, and is known as a Cyclist’s Sanctuary. It was selected by CNN as one of “7 Best Bike Routes in the World.” Ehime also has the UFO Line, where you can cycle along the ridgeline at an altitude of over 1,600 m while viewing Mt. Ishizuchi, the highest mountain in western Japan, the route through the Sadamisaki Peninsula, where you can cycle to the end of the longest and narrowest peninsula in Japan, and the route crossing over Ozu Nagahama Ohashi Bridge, which is the oldest movable road bridge in Japan.
