冷泉通（れいせんどおり）
京都市左京区にある東西の通り。
明治時代に琵琶湖疏水が開通した時に造られた通り。
通り名の由来は夷川通の延長線上にあり、
また夷川通が平安京の冷泉小路にあたる事から、
旧名を復活させ冷泉通と名付けられた。
通りは琵琶湖疏水沿いを通り、
岡崎公園の平安神宮前を通りながら東へ向かっていく。

In this video, we will take you through the streets of Kyoto,
which are said to be shaped like a checkerboard.
I ride my bike (and walk where I can’t) at a leisurely pace.
I hope to be able to show you around the city along the way.

Reisen-dori
An east-west street in Sakyo Ward, Kyoto City.
It was built when the Lake Biwa Canal was opened in the Meiji era.
The street’s name comes from the fact that it is an extension of Ebisugawa-dori,
and since Ebisugawa-dori corresponds to Reizei-koji in Heian-kyo,
the old name was revived and the street was named Reisen-dori.
The street runs along the Lake Biwa Canal,
and heads east, passing in front of Heian Shrine in Okazaki Park.
