I Moved to Tokyo

WOW! Moving sucks! I’m super sad to say goodbye to living in my favourite city (Osaka) but at the same time, very excited for a new chapter in Tokyo. So far, I’m overwhelmed lol.

  1. Aloha H,

    Congrats on the move.

My misses really wants one of those ice cream cones and in my last three trips we have hunted for them but have been unsuccessful. Please share where I can buy one for here. I know the shipping to Hawaii from Japan will crush my sole but anything for happy life 😂😂😂😂

    Mahalo 🤙🏽

  2. The wood floors look like my mom's kitchen floor (we're definitely not in Japan haha) and she's forever mad that she can't get the floor truly clean. 🤣Congrats to you and Chris on the move!

  3. I'll add to the other comments encouraging more vlog style content. Love it. Love it. LOVE it. Congrats on the move! And also, you and Emma (TokiDokiTraveller) are Ice Cream Lamp Twinsies (I think she even used the same moving company for her recent move into Tokyo)! And also also, HI CHRIS! Still a cutie as ever.

  4. Girl! Tell me about it. I had people from the Marketplace asking me to deliver the items to them on the day of, despite stating on my post that I couldn’t deliver. Or just the other week, someone was picking up an old office chair for FREE and had to audacity to ask me to drive him home lol when I told him I don’t drive, he asked me to tell my husband to drive him home like whuuut?
Some people just straight up ghost me after canceling some plans for them! It’s difficult out here.

  5. If you have free stuff, the best way to get rid of it is by putting it out on the street with a sign that says $50 and put a random phone number implying you expect them to contact you to pay. It will be gone in 20 minutes.

The irony is Japan may be the only country in the world where it wouldn't work.

  6. 3:12 This made my day! lol the struggle is real! lol

7:17 I feel that! Sizzler used to be sooo much more affordable back in the day over here but the price just isn't worth it these days.

  7. That's why there are so many abandoned houses in these abandoned cities and towns. People move where the work is and that's in Tokyo.

  8. I just curious about the "flakey" people on facebook market place, were they Japanese or foreign, or do you know? Where I live there's a moving company that sells you boxes, then when you've finished with will buy them back, undamaged one of course, at a reduced rate.

  9. I just found out yesterday that I gotta move in 2 1/2 months, and this video helped reminded me of the dread I'm going have to deal with moving. My God, do I hate it >.<

  10. Great view you had there in Osaka. Cool photos, too!
Unfortunately we won't see the new view until you move again 🙂
And as that's very stressful, that's hopefully not very soon!

Congrats on your new home and お疲れ様!

  11. Just give out your stuff on ジモティー to Japanese people, I'm assuming in general they are more punctual and responsible for commitments

  12. Keen to know why we can't see your view out the windows…hmmm you can see a fabulous landmark ? The apartment looks great…I also enjoy casual content, all the best settling in 🙂

  13. I'm Japanese, but thank you for choosing to live here! The weather is comfortable now, but around December it suddenly becomes cold and dry. It's especially cold and dry from January to February 😆 Do you dry your laundry in your bedroom and turn on the air conditioner? I'm a person who likes oil heaters (electricity bills 😅) with the warmth of the sun! Also, the "electric blanket" is cheap and the electricity bill is cheap and warm, but it makes it impossible to get out of the futon😆✨ Enjoy Japan to the fullest! ! At the end of the year, there will be Toshikoshi Soba, Oshiruko, and more! ! 👏👏👏👏👏👏👏

  14. I caught a glimpse of Osaka Dome from your balcony, and remembered seeing the Red Hot Chili Peppers there in 2007. Osaka really is the best for living! 😃
