So im in the kitchen cooking, on my laptop missis peeks in hears levi doing the downhill bit. good job btw. She wanted to know what i was watching and she hears you say where both stood up the whole time. so now I gonna have to sleep on the sofa, but ill end up on the floor cos the dog sleeps on the sofa and ill feel bad.
I had to look up the origins of the name York and it looks like it is a Viking word, 'Jorvik', that means wild boar bay. The romans took over the place, but it seems the pronunciation got smoosled into York.
Apperently wild boar have been cited in North Yorkshire.

btw.: would be better to put the luggage on a rack with left and right paniers/bags…. currently the weight is to high and makes it more difficult to handle the bike… (had the same problem with my Husky701 )m

Vintage Defender? Vintage cars are defined as those sold between 1919 and 1930. That’s almost 20 years before the first Land Rover saw the light of day. The name Defender wasn’t used until 1990. There are no Vintage Defenders, the oldest is less than 35 years old.

Just a heads up, South Yorkshire is not a county, it’s the southern bit of the West Riding of Yorkshire.
It’s confusing I know, but Riding in old English/Viking means a third.
So you have North, West and East Riding but obviously no South Riding.

dont blame that rock…. it was just sitting there minding its own sweet business… when you learned a lesson, and your both better bikers for that impromptu fall from grace… only slight damage to the bike but a bruised ego…. each mishap will teach you… until one day you master the art of off roading…

Great Job. Check out Adam Reimann's instructional video on how to pop (lift) the front wheel to get over obstacles. I just started learning to do it. It's a lot of fun, a bit physical (but you're young! I'm old LOL) but it will make you both better riders. Ride safe!

Is it just me, or did you bottom out the front suspension on that rock?
I'm interested to see what bike Lavi chooses for overseas trips… obviously it needs off road capability, and the most capable bikes are quite tall which may not be ideal.
I keep coming back to the idea of Yamaha Versys 300 with a low seat. or a bike designed for farm work which already have quite low seats, reasonable off road manners and extended service intervals. like the Suzuki DR200SE, Yamaha AG200, Kawasaki Stockman 250, or one of their predecessors.

When you get to the rough spots, just don’t freeze up or focus on the things that scare you. Just evaluate what you have to do if you don’t do it. When you decide to do it, just figure a plan, relax, and do it. And have fun in the process.
