Chad, the Desert that Floods | Deadliest Journeys

In Chad, even the desert is experiencing flooding on an unprecedented scale. More than a million people are affected by rising waters. Hundreds of thousands of hectares of fields have disappeared, a tragedy in a country where a third of the population is food insecure. In the south, although rich in oil, each trip is an epic for the local populations who do not benefit from the benefits of black gold. Norbert and Souleymane exhaust themselves every week on a broken track to supply the surrounding markets. In the Salamat region, transporting people is a daily challenge. The raging waters have washed away parts of the road, and in places, the track is submerged for hundreds of meters.

  1. Os europeus ocupam as minas e petróleos e riquezas e dão as guerras e sofrimentos viva a liberdade sem sofrimento 😢😢😢😊😊😊

  2. ¡¡¡DESDE NICARAGUA!!! FEÑICIDADES A BEST DOCUMENT. POR HACER POSIBLE TAN BELLO DOCUMENTAL.POR SU ESCRITURA DEL REPARTO SEME HACE QUE ES UN DOCUMENTAL FRANCÉS. APARTE DE MI ELOGIO HACIA USTEDES OPINO LO SIGUIENTE: QUE ESOS GOBIERNOS DE AFRICA NO HACEN NADA POR DESARROLLAR SU PAÍS, SI NO, EL QUE VA LLEGAANDO AL PODER VA ROBANDO Y NO SE ACUERDAN DE ESOS PUEBLOS SUFRIDOS. CIERTAS COSTUMBRES ARRAIGADAS DE LOS AFRICANOS ES QUE SI CON COSTO GANAN, ELLOS TIENEN TRES O CUATRO MUJERES, Y A TODOS LES PONEN HIJOS. ESTO EN RESUMEN ES HACER MAS POBREZA.-

  3. Its always a Toyota car where ever you go in the world! I bet if someone went to hell and returned, they'd tell us they found that Satan has a convoy fleet of Toyota cars, running on bad souls and fiery fires! Big up Toyota!!

  4. Wow my heart goes out to the people of Chad, we really must be grateful as South Africans, we grew up knowing that we need to go to school and our parents go to work and we thought that was normal for all Africans, i can't imagine the difficulties other Africans face, now i undrstand why they chose to come to South Africa for a better life I pray my country people have a heart to allow especially these women, looks like there is no electricity or running water altogether there😢😢😢😢

  7. They say they have to be at the market by 8ham and they do a 8hours trip. So why are they in the Middle of the trip while its sunny outside?! It mean they left 12 hours or more before the 8am?!? That detail obsess me…

  8. Chad has one of the largest endorrheic – pluvial basin in the world. 6000 years ago there was a megachad lake . So if the global warming will continue, stronger precipitation will fall from the ITCZ zone and the large lakes and savanna will return againt.
