El Piri bikepacking route: Girona to Andorra Begins!

Cycling the world – Europe: 165 episode
In this episode I leave Girona and head towards Andorra, following the El Piri bikepacking route in the Spanish Pyrenees, which also touches France and Andorra. Starting a bit late after exploring the old town of Girona, I set off on the anticlockwise segment from Girona to Andorra. The weather wasn’t ideal, but fortunately, it didn’t rain until after I pitched my tent. However, I discovered two small leaks in my 4-year-old tent during the night as the rain started. The next day was mostly dry, though the cool temperatures combined with high humidity made me sweat like a beast. Towards the end of the day, I faced a long climb and struggled to find a suitable campsite for the night.

  3. Well, for cyclists Girona is the most famous place in the EU, and a must-destination for anyone cycling in Spain! There are a lots of YouTube videos about the Girona, even some american Cyclers and you tubers have moved to the Girona because of the hype, you could have made your own Youtube impression of the Girona and the "Cycling Mecca"!

  4. So Girona is where many professional cyclists live during their off season, must be a lot of great places (and climbs) to ride in this area. The Pyrenees and the Alps are always included in the Tour de France.

  5. Hey Davide , do you sometimes pack your MSR in the morning when its (flysheet) still damp? And if so, does it affect the waterproofing? And is your groundsheet still unpunctured? I ask because I have one too (bikepacking version), and always dry it before packing, just wanna know if its worth the delay I face looking for a sunny spot and wind to dry , Marcel
