a
thousand year old
history I
believe
and yo
is just a
few kilometers
distant the mountain Mount yo is
visible

one of Japan’s top shogi
players uh and uh
it’s
youngest ever to reach the eighth
rank played
a match year last year and uh you can
stay in the room and and have
the the same dinner menu that he
did who
S is his
name he’s such an
unassuming guy I mean he
is extremely
wealthy
um
googleing Google Fuji
s he’s got Legions of fans for all ages
there has been a
huge uptick
in interest in
shogi some really nice
hotels uh
here um and uh traditional ins but
like most such places in Japan it’s
uh it’s really in
Decline it Heyday was’ 70s 80s
and it came to an end in the ’90s and uh
there’s just a lot of
vacant uh accommodations
now but you can see they’re trying to
uh to boost tourism I noticed
foreign language
signage last time I was out here I did
not see
that that newish looking hospital
here uh and uh as I was saying earlier
in
Japanese uh I the name of this town uh
uh is home
to uh one of the
world’s
leading
designers of fish
tanks um he died uh 10 to 20 years
ago um but if you
are into tropical fish if you have an
aquarium uh particularly one and you’ve
got seaweeds grass growing in it living
in it you may don’t know the name of is
it Nako or
Tako off the top of my head I can’t
remember his
name but it’s something like that and
he’s from you
on wow look at that
tree that is a uh crypto Maria Japanese
Cedar
now I can smell the uh
sulfur so we Are Climbing uh
into uh yiko village now and again there
is uh yo
Yama uh mount
yiko
