暖かい冬のある日、東八道路杉並あたりから玉川上水に沿って小平付近までゆるゆるとポタリングした記録です。武蔵野の趣を色濃く残す玉川上水の周囲は日が短かい冬場にサクッと散歩するには絶好のルートです。途中、小金井公園に隣接する江戸東京たてもの園にも初めて立ち寄りました。
武蔵野地区には一橋大をはじめとして著名な大学も多く、風景に溶け込んでいます。中でも津田塾大の正門からの風景が好きで出かけるたびに正門前で写真を撮ってしまいます。これまで出会った卒業生の皆さん全てが素敵な方だった、ということもこの大学に惹かれる理由かもしれません。女子大とあって写真を撮るのはびくびくものですが、休日は学生もいないから大丈夫かな、と…
タイトルに偽りありで今回は完全な平坦路、「這うようにのぼる」場面はありません。
On an unexpectedly warm winter day, I enjoyed pottering along the Tamagawa Aqueduct. The Aqueduct was developed in the 17th century to supply water to Edo city. The Aqueduct and its surrounding maintains old Musashino atmosphere, which I love. On the way, I stopped by at the Edo Tokyo open air architectural museum, where old buildings and houses in Edo and modern era were relocated and on display.
There are many respected universities in Musashino area which add a charm to Musashino scenery. I stopped at one of such Universities, only at the gate – as the University is women’s one.
Despite of the title, there is no climb, as the Aqueduct has less than 100m elevation difference overall. I hope you can share my nostalgic feel for old Musashino scenery.
