Kurven über Kurven – Pyrénées Catalanes | Pyrenäen Motorrad Tour (Teil 6) | 4K
On the Mediterranean in in Tossa de Mar, we start day number today… I don’t even know anymore. Four, five… Something like that. We’re slowly living on bikes here. And we had Really quite a dump as a hotel. Unfortunately this time it was nothing. But well, that’s part of it too.
This is always the case with planning late in the afternoon. You need something quickly. And right here, now right near the beach. On the one hand, the prices are of course horrendous and it is fully booked, now during the holidays. And then you quickly look at Booking and find something.
And we usually, actually almost always I’ve been really lucky so far and have always had something cool. Unfortunately this time it was quite a mess. But good, We still slept well. The breakfast was also amazing, at least varied, so that we can now return to the Pyrenees well strengthened beginning.
And then we’ll see each other again soon, I would say. But before we go to the Pyrenees, We’re still driving on a really cool, curvy road along the sea, I noticed this straight away when I was planning the route here. That connects Tossa de Mar here with the next town
And you can already see what it looks like on the navigation system. And this has been going on for a while now with, I always think, good prospect for down to the sea and that should wake us up somewhat. The street with the dreary name
GI 682 is definitely one of the most beautiful and most scenic roads along the Mediterranean. It’s not called the “Road of 1000 Curves” for nothing. Ahh, wonderful. There are only 365 curves that are packed tightly together here over a length of 21 kilometers “Tossa de Mar” nach “Sant Feliu de Guixols”
But these have it all. On the best asphalt This coastal road seems to run endlessly along the Corniche. Have a look at this. How beautiful that looks. And there are few good roads, which actually go directly along the coastline. Most of the time there is one place next to the others paved and
You’re actually only stuck in a traffic jam when you want to drive long before it and most of the roads that are a little further in the country, Then you don’t see it all so well anymore. But this thing is really an exception. Nothing at all has been built here
And it really goes on here all the time now along the sea. There are almost no straight sections and one should be careful not to give in to the temptation to be distracted by the view to be distracted towards the sea along the steep rocks.
Because this sometimes narrow street leaves little room for misjudgment. Luckily there are always small parking bays from which you can… can take a look at these beautiful bays of the Costa Brava. Guys, isn’t this street absolutely insane. I bet you’re already sick at home watching TV, because it’s just…
There are just curves here. There are simply no more curves. And with this incredible view of the Mediterranean all the time Simply brutal. And it continues like this for another ten kilometers. Craziness! At this time We have no idea what will await us today.
Things continue to be just as winding until late in the evening. To this day it is the day on which I by far I drove most of the curves. An unimaginable number of curves! That’s why we’re making a small cut here now. Since the GI 682 is, despite everything, something very special,
I have almost the entire trip for you packed into an extra video on this wonderful coastal road, which you can find in the video description or at the end of the video. So, that one Road has come to an end in Sant Feliu de Guixols. Something like that… We immediately got lost.
Not bad, we’ll just drive the next one now. Yes, that’s a tough street. If you’re down here, be sure to drive that way. There are few cool streets that go directly to the sea. But that was definitely the best one, that I drove here. So, here we are on the next winding road
Arrived here. There are a lot of cyclists here, I think. That’s another piece here Spanish mainland, near the Mediterranean. But it works a bit along inland and it’s now ten and twelve kilometers… This road is all curves and of course we’ll take that with us too. Von Calonge aus
We continue into the Spanish hinterland. More precisely, we drive southeast past Girona, over the 221 meter high Coll de la Ganga. This small, insignificant pass lies in a small low mountain range, in the “Gavarres” in the middle of the Costa Brava. Although it is the lowest of the five asphalt crossings
Is in the Gavarres, only this is called a pass. But that doesn’t really matter to us, because the curves here are again outstanding and we enjoy every meter of the approximately ten kilometer long route. So this curvy one Route through mainland Spain was real lovely, lovely, lovely, lovely.
Now things are a little quicker and a little more direct faster towards the Pyrenees again, because here is in between the country is relatively flat and I still have a few points in the southern Pyrenees, which we didn’t drive to yesterday have, more that were actually on the route yesterday.
But because of the weather yesterday wasn’t quite as optimal anymore and we decided to To go to Spain again, which was absolutely the right thing to do. Yes, are we still driving there today? We have to go back to France anyway and that was already relatively south anyway. Due to this
This fits in quite well with the route. And we’re going again to the Pyrenees. Yes, we ended up in the corners again. After a really nice quick connection stage here, which actually did quite well. You can move forward a few meters and yes, it was a bit airier.
It was bearable and we made good yards and now here we are again at the foot of the mountains. You can already see how they are piling up and the first ones are here winding roads long again, which is now really fun again. And look at how cool this looks again, splendid!
And I like the Spanish flair here and the climate yes, it’s a look like that too, although everything is a bit dried out here. But still, I kind of like it. It always reminds me of my favorite holiday island Fuerteventura. I really enjoy driving around here.
By the way, the Canary Islands are also becoming such a thing, where I would really like to ride my motorcycle. I was just in Fuerteventura, I already was straight up I’ve been traveling around Fuerteventura a lot in the car,
I know my way around there pretty well and there are so many beautiful ones streets. It’s difficult to get there with a motorcycle. But maybe I’ll borrow something at some point and then we’ll drive a bit to the Canary Islands Yes, those were almost the last pictures here of Spain,
Because we are now driving over another smaller pass and then we cross the border again to France. And I really have to say, Spain gave me the opportunity to ride a motorbike. that was my first time with the motorcycle here, that I was in Spain at all and my first time at all
In mainland Spain. I really really liked that. If only it weren’t so far away, I would come here more often. But this definitely needs to be repeated again. I would also really like to visit this whole island, to drive around the entire peninsula down here.
So down to Portugal or a little bit through mainland Spain. There are semi-deserts and stuff like that, there are definitely a lot of them, I believe Really worth seeing areas to explore and we’ll look into it a little more intensively at some point.
But then I think you almost have to plan a little longer. What a wonderful street is this? I could say it again and again, I’ve said it 1000 times, but so many curves, as we have already driven today and it is only 12:30 p.m. now.
I think there were that many curves on the whole tour not yet. Along the coast… It was absolute madness. This is now going on and on here. That’s just awesome. Who built these roads… And I think my roaming SMS for France has already arrived. If I’m not mistaken, it just did *bing*.
I think the limit is about to come here. So I think we are back in France. There’s actually no mistaking it. That is real… I think it’s really cool that you can just go beyond these boundaries You can drive back and forth in Europe and just not feel anything.
But here there aren’t even any signs saying you’re in France anymore. Suddenly you are again… you only recognize it from the license plate, that suddenly everyone here has a French license plate again. If there are so many pennants here and hang flags, that point to France, then I think it’s relative clearly.
But otherwise you really don’t get it anymore. Here we are again a bit on a smaller road after we got back on, crossed two towns. And we are really spoiled. There are also endless curves here, but we are really spoiled by this asphalt that we have today
Have been on these endless curves all day. And it’s just a little worse here now, absolutely drivable, but just a little worse and It’s not quite as fun as the others. But here our route takes us a long way. It’s slowly getting higher. I hope we can get a little bit higher soon,
Because you can see here at the front, we have 26 degrees the midday heat, that just came crashing down here from the sun and that’s one of those… If I have one criticism of the Versys here, This motorcycle is real for me the best touring motorcycle from Kawasaki.
There is still the Ninja 1000SX and also the Ninja H2SX, or the Versy 650, which of course all work for touring. How the suitcases are constructed. Everything is exactly the same. But above all here are the thousands in the SE version with the chassis and generally the whole concept is really for me
I have nothing wrong with that. Except for one small thing. And this is step on the gas, boys and girls, That’s just a bit of what you do here when it’s so warm here is like we had now in Spain or now in France, that you just get very little air.
And I think I’ve already done some touring Motorcycle from another, driven by another manufacturer. I think that’s a bit of a problem in general. Of course there is simply more here Wind protection, weather protection, which is what you often need. When it’s a little colder or it’s raining,
Of course it’s great that you’re sitting behind a wall like this. But it would just be really cool if you were somewhere in front here I could somehow open a flap manually and then somehow there was a wind coming from the front would be directed to the legs.
And here too there is almost nothing on my hands, because the engine is shining already an enormous heat. Especially when you drive through towns, The speed here sometimes reaches 100 degrees and then That is real intense, what kind of heat hits your legs. And then,
If you just… But even now, when you have a bit of wind, actually, there’s almost nothing that matters to the legs, if you hold it in a normal position. If you could somehow direct the air flow, that would be a bit of a difference
Blowing on the calf from the inside, that would be somehow brilliant. It has to be doable. So, dear motorcycle manufacturers, if you all look at this now, then Just think about whether we can do something about it. That would mean driving all over again at temperatures like that take it to another level.
Those were the first other motorcyclists coming towards us. There were just a few cyclists who were on our side of the curve. I think they got a little fright but that was the first other motorcycles. We now feel like we have no idea. I think it was at least 20 minutes.
Are we now at 500 meters, now we are at 700 meters and drove along these slopes at this height. Infinitely curvy, Awesome, just awesome. And here in Saint-Marsal, a small town with only about 70 residents, which feels like it’s in the middle of nowhere, we actually discover a wonderfully small location,
To have a small lunch snack. We’re taking a short break here, shooting briefly um, treat us to one… And treat ourselves to something delicious. Because “Le relais” is also a little insider tip. The food was France, typically super tasty and everyone who comes by here,
You should definitely take a short break at “Le Relais”. and treat yourself to culinary delights with local specialties. So “culinary” You have to say, the French really have it. You immediately notice that you are in France. This is really delicious here. Thomas, how is yours? “Very good.” That’s… yes, very good.
We ate very, very, very tasty. Now it goes on curvy! How else… It’s really warm here now. And yet somehow there’s a little bit of that up here a light, pleasant mountain air. So it is. It is bearable. Let’s put it this way, if the moped were a little airier,
It would be almost perfect. We are at Col Xatard and drive left somewhere back there. It looks high there. Oh, look, I didn’t even notice that. Things really go up here and the clouds are still a bit over at the moment. Let’s see if we can see anything from the summit, then there.
I think it’s going up there bit by bit and then up. At the moment it’s still working slightly uphill, but extremely curvy here through this forest. On a street, which is now partly a bit dirty, but still rides well. You can now see on the navigation system what’s going on here.
That’s it really. There’s really a lot of dirt here. It’s really awesome. So what’s going on here is really crazy on the curves, but it goes up the next pass. I’ll show you what it’s called exactly later. There was just a sign there. Of course I didn’t notice and that’s it
A good 1,300 meters high and we are now at 750 m. So it’s going well now up. At the moment it is still forested, But I assume that it will subside at some point now. The vegetation and then the view, again a bit even more comes into play here
And it might get a little cooler too. I would very much welcome that. If you go here a few times had a bit of grit on the road, then suddenly this rough asphalt also appears it looks like that and you don’t really trust yourself anymore, to drive into the curve a little faster.
We’ve just met here… I think there’s a bit of split here again. Yes, we’ve just talked about the deadlines for help, here on… There’s nothing here far and wide. Here are the tiniest ones Villages, every few. No idea how many kilometers. Have a look at this? Mega! And there’s nothing else here.
And if you’re here somehow If you have an accident, you have to wait quite a while before you get help. So always be careful! Suddenly there are three horses standing in front of you. So these curves here, this road, it really is almost endless. Now it’s going down a bit again. It’s easy
Endlessly long and we have already driven so many curves. It’s just not normal anymore. The remote, the D 13, which we have been following since the Col Xatard, leads us in a northwesterly direction past the “Pic du Canigou”. This is the easternmost striking mountain peaks of the Pyrenees.
It has a height of 2,785 meters and was long considered the highest mountain in Catalonia. The slopes are often snow-covered well into the summer of the Canigou, are visible from afar from the coastal plain of the Mediterranean and can also go 100 kilometers beyond the coastline can be perceived. More than 30 kilometers
It goes exactly like that, on and on, only interrupted by three tiny mountain villages, in which iron ore was still mined a few 100 years ago. The road winds in countless curves up to the 1,036 meter high “Col de Palomère” and further along the partial steep mountain slope to “Finestret”
Im Tal der Tet. From there Let’s continue east, where there are still some wonderful passes waiting for us. We crack one last time in the Pyrenees the 2,000m altitude mark. Stay overnight in a hotel across from a loud party with no people. And yes, I’m also tossing the Versys to the side again.
But all of that is there Part number 7 of our Pyrenees tour. Thank you for watching. See you in the next video!
Ganz WILD!

Ganz grosses kino, Rene. Danke schön für's Mitnehmen 🙏⛰🍷🏔🏁
Sehr schönes Video, da will
Wirklich schade. LG aus der Steiermark. Herbert
Was soll ich sagen- GENIAL! 😄👍 Kurven über Kurven mit genialer Landschaft und Aussicht! Ich freue mich auf Teil 7!
