Arashiyama Kyoto, Kameoka City, Fushimi Inari, food etc. | Living Alone in Japan
Konnichiwa! Today I’m gonna take you to Arashiyama. Its actually close to my house. But lets ride on a bus. Its 15 minute by bicycle from my place. And around 10 minute by bus. This is the Katsuragawa River. and the famous Togetsukyo bridge. The number of tourists in Japan increases post-pandemic opens all borders.
Today in Arashiyaama there’s a lot of tourists. This trees will change its colors on autumn. From green to yellow, red or brown. This is Tenryuji Temple. An unending walk in Japan. This is the way to Bamboo Forest. This is a Japanese Cemetery. Nonomiya Shrine.
Its a shinto-shrine said to provide blessings for marriage. A train railway in the middle of Forest! Were riding the Sagano Romantic Train. Its a 25 minute train ride. From Sagano station to Kameoka station. The railway runs old fashioned trains from 19th century. The train runs along the Hozugawa River,
Views of forests and mountains. This is popular during autumn foliage season. Also in the spring because of cherry blossoms. In summer, a cool breeze and sound of cicadas. In the winter, dramatic snowy landscapes. You can also try the boat back down the Hozugawa River.
But for us, we took the JR line going back to Arashiyma. I find the trip nostalgic, as we pass tunnels. Thinking this was a century old railway. And was home of soldiers during war. I am a city boy, but history and countryside always amazes me. And that I am always thankful
To the past generations. Preserving these picturesque countryside, so that newer and future generations can enjoy and can connect with old generations. We arrived at Kameoka City. We don’t really know how to explore the city. But imagine behind this mountains. There’s this City hidden. I found this sweet potato seller.
Japanese sweet potato tastes really delicious. You can actually eat the skin too. But I peeled it LOL. sorry Its creamier and rich than what we have in Ph. Its making my throat dry LOL. This is the JR line going back to Arashiyama. Its much faster than the Sagano or the boat ride.
Time for Lunch! We will eat at this buffet near the river. The food is like a fusion of Korean, Chinese and Japanese. This is my first plate. I want to try everything LOL But after 2nd plate I was already full. After eating this shrimp, I got allergies LOL.
I want my allergies to seashells to go away! This is to Fushimi Inari. The one with hundreds or maybe thousands of Tori gates. I always stop by the Food stores Lol Ahh Im tired already. Being with a lot people drains me. Can you see the last Tori gate on top?
Yes, we didn’t go up there. LOL I think halfway I quitted and get back down. But I still tried, I’m sorry. This is the part I stopped. I can’t go further anymore. Maybe next time.
