Durch die Nord-West-Pyrenäen zum Col de la Pierre Saint-Martin | Pyrenäen Tour (Teil 2) | 4K
It’s really incredibly beautiful here. This is the Spanish border somewhere, by the way. A text message just arrived with Spanish roaming. And look at this. Everything here is full of flies! Ahhhh… Here they are eating All the other dead people are discovered and are too. If you stop here, your helmet is everywhere.
Ah, move on quickly… this beautiful street This way! So, it’s really breathtakingly beautiful here. You could stay here for hours. So I would walk around here for a while. I can really imagine just hiking in the mountains. You can experience everything just a little more intensely and more slowly.
But then you might miss the next moment, which we are now probably have it relatively soon, because we still are at the very beginning of the Pyrenees. Day 1. We now still have 156 kilometers to go. The navigation system says three and a half hours.
Well, if we progress like we have in the last two or three hours, it will take significantly longer because we stop here all the time and enjoy this incredibly beautiful landscape. But that’s how it should be. Today is my day too, day 1
Which we have in the mountains today, was planned a little tighter in terms of the number of kilometers. Tomorrow and the day after tomorrow it tends to be a little longer from the route, But there are a few points where we can, if necessary could be shortened a little bit
And what can be omitted optionally. So let’s just see how we get through. Maybe we can do it also to leave really early one day. I’m a bit into that because there are other pictures too. But we will see. In the first part we started in Giessen
And have a distance of more than 1,200 kilometers long highway marathon behind us, in order to get to the Pyrenees as quickly as possible. After one night, a little way west of Bordeaux, We started from the Atlantic this morning and plunged into the Pyrenees.
We wound our way kilometer after kilometer along this beautiful little road, which kept us very close to the French The main battle led along the Spanish border, the Pyrenees. Apart from these seemingly endless expanses and breathtaking landscapes, I was particularly impressed by how many different animals wander completely freely across these meadows.
Oh, these sheep don’t even care that you drive this way. They just stand stubbornly on the street and pretend as if they don’t see us. Crazy. And it’s really a bit tiring here On this small street there are always cars coming your way and circumstances, little motorcyclists and also few cyclists,
But cars with jeeps and stuff some keep arriving. And it is partly a bit challenging to get past it in some places We finally found something where we can now hopefully get something to drink. That would really be necessary. That feels incredibly good! Sometimes a little challenging to come up with here.
If it’s a little weirder, but so far it has always worked. So, we drive on, we had something to drink, it was good. Unfortunately there was nothing to eat here. If everyone doesn’t want to make any sales, All the better for us that we can continue straight away.
And I just looked, We’re leaving now A little bit through France again and then things really get going over to Spain Not just to the border, but we’re actually driving into Spain, and then drive back over another pass to France. So we have a long way to go.
That’s only 200 kilometers here on Calimoto, but let’s see if we can do it that way, because One simply travels very, very slowly here. Although the road looks a little faster right now, It’s extremely difficult to estimate that.
The navigation system says it will take three and a half hours, but that doesn’t work at all, because of course we also take one or two breaks and are generally a bit slower, as is the case here the navigation system announces. But the road is a little wider,
Can drive a little more smoothly, once again beautiful and still curvy without end. We have despite Anyone else who rides a Calimoto knows a little bit about the curve index. And we still had a whole stretch of highway this morning and really very very very very many straight stretches, so several.
Yes, I think it was almost 200 kilometers, the route was actually still boring and we still had it on the route today the curve index of 105. That is nice pretty awesome! It’s time again It’s a pleasure to drive corners that are just a little faster. They are wider streets.
You don’t have to be afraid that someone will be there all the time suddenly stands in front of you on a curve. That was earlier on these small streets, where a bit challenging at times. It’s really nice here and of course you can manage a few meters, progresses a little faster
And still gets its money’s worth. And here they are again, the sheep! And what a wonderful road there is again. You can already guess. And a calf. Well, what are you looking at? What are you looking at? Completely unimpressed. And it goes up the next pass in a wild zigzag.
He should follow us now Lead Spain over, if I’m not mistaken. The border runs between France and Spain Yes, almost all the time in the Pyrenees and you can easily travel back and forth between these two countries
And you should definitely do that because then you will definitely come back here again and again the summit chains and constantly drives up to the street and back down again We are now well over 1,000 meters high again. 1,212 m to be exact.
And it keeps going up and let’s see if we can even get here drive a bit above the clouds. That would be really cool again. There’s always a bad one Sight when the clouds float below you. In any case, we are the same in a cloud like that. And horses again. How awesome!
So horses… will you let me through here? Just a little bit threatening they already look good. Please let me know in the comments if you have already You saw wild horses just running around somewhere. So it’s definitely the first time for me and they are just everywhere, and I think it’s really cool.
We have just adjusted our route a little bit and hit a gas station because the gas station network isn’t even that big and the next gas station would be was definitely too far for Thomas. And that’s why… Ah, look at this… …that’s why we’re making a very small stab at Spain
Into a street. It shouldn’t be a huge detour and there is a small gas station there, we fill up there and then we go again further. And here we are again a few sheep, just lying around on the street. They just don’t care. It’s awesome.
Past the town of Larrau we continued south and higher and higher. About the 1,362 meter high Col d’Erroymendi and back to Port de Larrau this 1,573 meter high mountain pass forms the transition between the former province Soule in the French Basque Country and the Spanish Valle de Salazar.
After the last few kilometers up to the top of the pass there was another significant climb, the departure on the Spanish side is clear flatter and faster. So you see here, the Spanish sun is the hotter sun. We have 29 degrees. An absolute record temperature and you notice it very clearly.
I hope that our gas station will come soon. Wonderful. Please fill it up once and then go back. So, we are back on our actual route. The short detour to the gas station is History and things are going really well again. We’ve already reached 1,000 meters in altitude again
The mark has been exceeded and it is a pleasant 25 degrees again. Yes, it was just a little cooler, but you can definitely notice that the air is cooler here again. Very pleasant and the street is also a pleasure here. Again, a little bit faster. 1.129 Meter and it goes down again.
And it’s always a pleasure, when you go downhill and hit the brakes a bit. A little harder. How stable the Versys1000SE is at the front of the fork. That’s easy… That’s what you always notice straight away, because you simply have such a great braking distance
And she just doesn’t let anything sink in at the front, but closes the fork straight away. becomes solid. This is incredibly cool this chassis. I love that and I would be happy if this was also available in the 650 Versys. It’s actually a 650 Versys model too enough for something like this here.
But from the chassis, This is where the SE really impresses. really impresses everything Ugh!! There was the catch on the ground! Yes, you get scared again when you look at the Versys the notch grinds for the first time. That was pretty neat too. But it literally requires an inclined position here
And screams for it Take a look here, it’s going up straight away and the street is really cool. I think it stays so wide that it will be really good. And things are actually going uphill now. The clouds come down here and push them down the mountain. Was super horny.
I find it so hot every time with the light now wonderful, wonderful! It’s difficult again here to keep your eyes on the road. Well, one cow can’t find her way back to the buddies
And there is also good poop on the street here. You also have to be a little careful. And there are horses standing around here again. Insanely beautiful! I think the cows think sometimes here, why do they have these stupid ones Guardrail installed here. This is just so crazy Here’s another horse.
After a good 25 kilometers on this wonderful road, which comes to us northeast from the Spanish Roncal Valley has climbed almost 1,000 meters in altitude, it went over the Portillo de Eraice into the clouds and immediately along the French border, further and further up to our highest pass,
Which we will cross today, the Col de la Pierre Saint-Martin. Now I’m excited. There’s something really funny on the navigation system Ah, that’s the bridges. We’re really going in circles here. That’s crazy. The Col de la Pierre Saint-Martin is 1,760m also our first pass in the Central Pyrenees.
Because this is where we leave for good the western or Atlantic Pyrenees, which me with their lonely, vast grasslands and these tiny streets that stretch out After winding endlessly through these mountains, we were really impressed. And here we are back in France. This looks so incredibly beautiful The farewell
Col de la Pierre Saint-Martin is once again a very special highlight both visually and in terms of driving Over the 1,450 meter high Col de Soudet It’s a good 25 kilometers extreme Curvy and steep down the north ramp, through the cloud cover to Arette and on to Oloron-Saint-Marie,
Where we booked a hotel, hoping to get something decent to eat and end the day comfortably. So, we should any moment now arrive at our accommodation and it’s 8:10 p.m. and that’s enough again. It was a really great day today. I am completely satisfied
With what we saw today and… What does satisfied mean? I am excited and am Fulfills and now I’m looking forward to a shower, because the bottom meter was very clear Quitting time! And then we’ll look for something to eat and something to drink and end the day. There is our hotel. Alysson Hotel.
It was a little tricky to find, but we have it. We have it now and Drive in there now. Everything here looks pretty dead. We’ll have to see how we do it with food. But there is also a restaurant in the hotel. That this will be closed exactly today.
Just like everything else in this place we didn’t know at that point. But this is another story, which I will show you in part three of our Pyrenees tell the tour. It’s a little too slanted. I would stay here now. Well, we’re here. Turn off GoPro!
This was the second part of our Pyrenees tour, but the journey is far from over! Part 3 starts a little wetter for us, but in the end we are rewarded with impressive images in the middle of three thousand meter peaks.
Thank you for watching and I look forward to a comment and a subscription from you! See you in the next video!

Was eine Traumlandschaft!
Echt traumhaft gemacht. Ich muss da auch unbedingt hin
Hoffe du bist an 25 Mai auch wieder dabei. Dein steifen roch so gut 😂😂😂😂
Fazit: Allzeit GUTE & sichere fahrt! 👍🙏 Tschüss zusammen! 🙋♂
