Deutsch lernen – B1- Beruf und Alltag (12)

Mr. Kulagin, great that you have time for a short interview. I hope you have settled in well with us in Berkel. Yes, you can say that and we are really happy that we managed to move without any major problems. Why did you and your wife actually want to move to the country?

I mean, you have a lot more options in the city than in the country. You know, we never really had any time in the city. Life there is far too hectic. We just didn’t want that anymore. We wanted more peace, nature, fresh air and no noise.

My wife and I also have many more opportunities for our hobbies here. What hobbies do you have? Oh, I have some. I really like doing sports. I like being in nature: I like cycling and hiking. I am a member of a hiking club and like to organize hikes for our hiking group.

My wife always comes with me, but she also enjoys working in the garden. She likes flowers very much. And she plays the piano very well. So you want to move around a lot in your free time? Exactly. I am very active in my free time.

I could never sit at home and collect stamps. I have to get out into nature. You can also collect things in nature. There are a lot of people around here who like to pick berries or mushrooms. That would be nothing for me. And that’s a bad thing to do when cycling.

I like to ride longer distances, fifteen kilometers or more. I’m a painter by profession and spend all day in rooms. You definitely need a lot of fresh air. I can understand well. And when you ride your bike, do you take photos? How do you know that?

Well there is a whole photo gallery on the wall. True. Photography is actually my biggest hobby. I like taking photos of nature: plants, animals, trees, landscapes. And what do you do with all those photos? I only keep good photos. I delete the others.

I put the good ones on the internet, they’re all on my homepage. Some of them are there on the wall. How many photos will be good? Well, some photos are taken well. Taking photos is only one side. The other is to make the most of the photos.

That’s why I edit them with an image editing program on my computer. I really enjoy it and I think I’m pretty good at it. So many hobbies… And you can certainly find many new motifs in our country. Thank you for answering all the questions and welcome again to Berkel. I also thank.

Sang&Klang Music School, registration, you speak to Ms. Mainowski. What can I do for you? Yes, good day. My name is Sofia Kulagina. I would like to speak to Ms. Friedrich. Please hold the line I put you through extension. Friedrich, good afternoon. Hello, this is Sofia Kulagina. I’m calling about my son Sascha.

Oh yes, Ms. Kulagina, nice of you to get in touch. I just wanted to tell you that Sascha can attend classes on Tuesdays and Thursdays. Fine! And the time? I wrote to you that the exact start of classes has not yet been decided.

So if the class starts no later than 3 p.m., then that’s no problem. Earlier is always possible. Unfortunately, it’s not possible earlier, Ms. Kulagina. Two students can only go from 3 p.m. But I just see that the room has changed again. Classes don’t take place in room 226, but in room 130.

Sorry, I didn’t understand the number. Can you please repeat that? Naturally. The new room number is 130. Okay, I wrote that down. Do you have any questions, Ms. Kulagina? No, that’s actually all. Thank you for your information. You’re welcome. If you have any questions, please feel free to call me. Goodbye, Ms. Kulagina.

Yes, please. Excuse me, is this the wind instruments course? Yes, come in. You are definitely Mrs. Kulagina. Oh yes, and there’s Sascha too. We already know each other better. Yes, that’s right. Hello, Mr. Mainowski. Sophia Kulagina. Are we too late? Where are the other students? Yes, Ms. Kulagina. I’m very sorry.

Unfortunately, the course you registered your son for is not taking place today. On Friday, the other two students informed us that Tuesday was not possible as a teaching day because their schedule at school had changed. Ms. Friedrich wanted to inform you, but unfortunately couldn’t reach you yesterday. Oh that’s a shame.

And we rushed so much today… I’m sorry. But I waited especially for you because I wanted to speak to you personally and ask you whether Wednesday would be possible as a teaching day for your son. So then Wednesday and Friday?

No. The days on which there are lessons would then be Wednesdays and Thursdays. Mmm, two days in a row. So if that’s what you want, Sascha? Yes, sure, I want to. And today? So don’t I have lessons? Oh no…. I was so looking forward to it. That’s great, Sascha, that you’re so keen.

You learn very quickly anyway. It is much easier to learn an instrument that you are motivated to play. And that’s why we’re starting today! One hour of individual lessons free of charge for you. Real? That’s cool! Great, and what do I do now? I would ask you to go to Ms. Friedrich’s office.

She will take care of business matters with you if you agree. Where is your office? First floor, room 110. Good, thank you, see you later. Please, you’re welcome. And I want to show you Sascha a trumpet that my grandfather played. Take a look here… Good morning, dear classmates.

Today I would like to present my topic to you. The topic is: Living in the city or living in the country? In my presentation I would like to mention the advantages and disadvantages of living in the city and in the country,

Talk about my own experiences and tell you where people in my country prefer to live. I would like to start with my own experiences. I lived in the city for many years. But six weeks ago I moved to the country with my husband and son, so I know both options.

Personally, I have to say that I like life in the country better. Why, you may ask. This brings me to my second point, namely what advantages and disadvantages I see. Living in the country has many advantages for me. We have a large garden where my son can play every day.

In the city there is only the playground next to the main road. The air there is very bad, especially in summer. The air is cleaner in the countryside. In summer we can even eat outside in the countryside. Thats fun. We could never do that in the city.

However, I also have to say that I miss the shopping opportunities and cultural offerings in the country. You need a car to go into the city or to other places. I see that as a disadvantage. However, if you have children, I think it’s better in the country.

Children can grow up better in the country. In my home country – and this brings me to the next point of my presentation – young people like to live in the city because they want to do a lot in the evenings and on weekends. Older people prefer to live in the countryside.

Many people have their own garden and always have their own fresh vegetables in summer. Fruit and vegetables are expensive in my country. This brings me to the end of my presentation. Thank you very much for your attention. Do you still have any questions? So I’m an absolute sports fan.

In my free time I do a lot of sport because my body is very important to me and because I want to stay healthy. For me, a healthy body means: exercise and healthy nutrition. That’s why I like to run and often swim.

Usually a combination of both: first run for an hour, then go swimming. I do this three times a week: Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays. At these times you can usually find me in the park or in the swimming pool. Well, if I’m honest, I have to say that I’m not much of an athlete.

I’m more of a culture person. I like classical music and good films. I particularly enjoy going to the opera and do so regularly. And there has been a new cinema in our city for two months. You can also watch original films here. Friday evening and Saturday – these two days belong to culture.

I look forward to it every week because my everyday professional life is very stressful. And culture just helps me forget the stress. So I like to go dancing. I like pop music and of course great concerts. On weekends I like to go to the disco at night.

I even played music there myself and was a DJ. That was really cool. And people liked it. I want to do this more often because I like entertaining other people. But I don’t just listen to music at the disco. Next Friday I’m going to a concert. My favorite band plays in the stadium.

This will certainly be a mega experience. Music School Sang & Sound. You speak to Ms. Friedrich. What can I do for you? Hello, my name is Milena Svoboda. I read your poster and would like to learn guitar. Do you have any courses there? Naturally. Even a lot of them.

This is our most popular instrument. Do you have basic knowledge? No, unfortunately not. But a guitar. Well, that’s good. Then you have to take a beginners course. The next course starts in 14 days. Unfortunately that’s not possible, I still have exams. Can’t it be a little later? Then in four weeks.

The courses start every 14 days. That’s good. How much does the course cost? 150€. The course has four hours per week and lasts two months. The book is included. That sounds good. How can I sign up? Very simple: you can find the online form at www.sangundklang.de.

Fill it out and you will receive an invoice from us, which you should pay. Then you are permanently logged in. Thank you. I’ll do that right away. Goodbye and thank you very much. Please, you’re welcome. Goodbye. Today we are dealing with the question “City or country?” and asked over 40 people the question:

“Where would you like to live?” Hear some comments on this. So I live in the countryside in the countryside. I can’t imagine anything else: lots of nature, peace and always fresh air. On weekdays I’m in the city because I work there.

But city life is far too hectic for me: the traffic, the traffic lights, the noise. I always think to myself: You don’t want to live here – and I look forward to my end of work. So what kind of question is this? In the city, of course.

I’m a city person and in the country I would feel totally alone and probably very bored. I need culture and my friends and I want to be able to go out in the evening. You don’t have all of that in the country. But who knows, when I’m old I might see things differently.

Well, a difficult question. We actually know both sides: My family lives in the city, my wife and I work here, the children go to school here and have friends here. But when the weekend comes, everyone wants to go out to the country. Even our dog knows when it starts.

We have a little house outside the city in the countryside and lots of fresh air. I think that’s a great combination. I just came from the gym and want to go to the cinema later. But where can you find that in the country?

No, no, living in the country – that really wouldn’t be for me. But I understand older people or families with children who would like to live in the country. I grew up in the country and know that nature is a dream for children.

So my husband and I just moved into a new house in the suburbs and we are so happy. This was the best decision we have made so far.

If you live on the outskirts of the city, you can be in the city in a good quarter of an hour and can take advantage of all the advantages of city life.

Of course, the other way around too: we live in the countryside, can go on great bike rides around the lake and enjoy nature.
